🌿 About Elysia & Elevated Education
Elysia is the founder of Elevated Education Early Learning, a Waldorf-inspired outdoor microschool located in Gresham, Oregon. Her vision is rooted in a belief that children thrive when given time, space, and nature to explore—developing not only academic knowledge, but also independence, curiosity, and practical life skills.
Her journey into early childhood education began with studies in Early Childhood Studies at Allan Hancock College and hands-on experience at Headstart Kindergarten. She holds certifications in CPR, Basic Life Support, and defensive driving, underscoring her commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment. Over the years, Elysia has worked as a nanny, preschool teacher, amish school bus driver, and now leads her own nature-based program, blending years of experience with a heartfelt philosophy of care.
A formative part of her story comes from living off-grid among Amish friends, where she was deeply influenced by the simplicity, rhythm, and work ethic of their way of life. This chapter sparked a lifelong respect for self-sufficiency and a passion for bringing those values into early childhood education. At Elevated Education, children bake, explore trails, and engage in screen-free, hands-on learning that fosters connection—with nature, with community, and with themselves.
With small group sizes and a gentle, home-based rhythm, Elevated Education offers something special: the nurturing atmosphere of a microschool paired with a powerful mission to grow the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
